Privacy Policy

Your trackpad commands stay between your devices.

This policy explains how PointerDeck, PointerDeck Receiver, this website, and support email handle information. PointerDeck is operated by Eliyahu Mechtcheriakov.

App data collection

PointerDeck does not use a PointerDeck account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, cloud backend, or application server that receives pointer commands. Pointer movement, clicks, drags, scrolling, pairing, and trusted-reconnection messages travel directly between your iPhone/iPad and Mac on the local network.

Information stored on your devices

Connection and permissions

PointerDeck uses Local Network permission to find and connect to the nearby PointerDeck Receiver. The Mac receiver uses Accessibility permission to post pointer movement, click, drag, and scroll events. It does not stream or display your Mac screen.

Controller traffic is encrypted on the local network. Initial pairing uses an 8–12 digit PIN with at least five different digits; repeated and sequential patterns are rejected. The PIN is accepted only while the Mac owner opens Add Device for up to two minutes. Later reconnection uses a separate high-entropy device credential stored in Keychain. This description is not a promise that the numeric pairing design resists every possible attack.

Your controls

You can use Forget Mac or Forget Mac & Pair Again on iPhone/iPad and revoke trusted controllers on Mac. Removing the app does not always remove Keychain items under Apple platform behavior; use the in-app forget/revoke controls before uninstalling if you want to remove a saved pairing.

Website data

This static website is hosted through GitHub Pages. PointerDeck adds no analytics, cookies, forms, or remote fonts. GitHub may process technical request information such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, and requested page under the GitHub Privacy Statement. Requests concerning data controlled by GitHub can be made through the privacy-rights process described there.

Support email

If you email support, your message, email address, and anything you choose to include will be handled through Gmail/Google and your own email provider. It is used only to understand and respond to your request and may remain in the support inbox until deleted. You may request deletion of a support conversation by emailing the same address. Google’s handling is also described in the Google Privacy Policy. Send only the information needed to answer your question, and never send a live Connection PIN, trusted-device secret, password, certificate, or unrelated personal information.

Service providers

PointerDeck does not sell or authorize service providers to use support content for advertising or tracking. Any provider handling information on PointerDeck’s behalf must protect it consistently with this policy and applicable privacy requirements. The providers’ own policies also apply to processing they perform as independent controllers.

Children, accounts, and sales

PointerDeck is not intended for the Kids category. It has no user account, in-app purchase, subscription, advertisement, or sale of personal information.
